Contextual studies Week 3

Week 3

In week 3 we moved on from Sol LeWitts and went on to Alexander Rodchenko the Russian artist, sculptor, photographer and graphic designer. I had to take pictures in the style of Rodchenko. The style of Rodchenko is straight lines and abstract images so i took these pictures.

These are my pictures in the style of Rodchenko Some of these where hard to take and hard to find pictures that could be used for the work i did, i also added some gouache to the pictures to give them a bit of depth and black line to add a bit more detail in to the picture

Contextual studies Week 2

Week 2

In week 2 I draw a tone line to see what tone you can get with a pencil. this is what i got.

I found that using a 6B that the lighter sections where easier to use rather than a 6H because a 6H is a much harder graphite.

Note to self: 6H - 2H = Harder
6B - 2B = Softer

I also draw a scale drawing of a Sol LeWitt walldrawing that is unnammed as far as i know. this is what it was ment too look like.
with out the woman there of course. Mine did not turn out like that because i didn't have the right measurement's so i made mine 12x12 and indented the lines every centimeter while taking a millimeter off this is what mine turned out like.
It is uncomplete because i didn;t not have enough time to complete it all in one sitting.
Note too self: Finish Sol Lewitts walldrawing.

Contextual studies week 1

Week 1

This is my first week of my contextual studies lesson, in the first week we where told to do a number of things on a piece of paper.

Draw 3 straight lines from one side of the paper to the other side.
Draw 5 circles anywhere on the paper.
Draw two more straight line form the edge of the paper to any edge you want.
Fill in 3 of the 5 circles.
Draw 2 curved lines from the edge on the paper.
Fill in any 3 spaces you want too with what ever you want.

This is how mine turned out.

The scanned copy of it is not that good because the line where not that dark so the scanner couldn't pick them up.
I was also old about the artist Sol LeWittAnd told i was going to imitate his work in week two
